Maybe it’s a sign I’ve been in the SaaS business for too long…

All development on the iPhone uses Objective-C on top of the Cocoa Touch framework. This project was my first experience using either Objective-C or Cocoa, having been mainly a Java guy for most of my life. After a good amount of time with it, I still have mixed feelings.
Information density isn’t a glamorous user interface design metric, but it’s critical to quick and effective communication. In this post I’m going to talk a bit about what information density is, why it’s important, and how we’re intending to use it to our advantage on mobile devices.

After months of on and off development, the first Constant Contact iPhone app (QuickView) is out the door and in the App Store. The free app allows you to check the status of your Constant Contact Email Marketing campaigns and update contacts and contact lists. Now that the shameless self promotion is out of the way, over the next few blog posts, I’ll talk about my experiences building the app from the ground up. My role as the primary developer gives me a rather comprehensive viewpoint into this whole adventure.
