  The Constant Contact Labs team has built a Facebook application that will allow you to add a “Join My List” tab to your Facebook profile page. Here are instructions on how to add the application, as well as add a “Join My List” tab.

  1.  Click here to begin installing the Facebook application.

  2.  A small box will appear. Click the “Allow” button.

  

  3.  Enter your Constant Contact username and password, then click the “Log In” button.

  

  4.  A prompt to publish a note about this application to your wall appears. Click the “Publish” button. Note: This box will only appear the first time you install the application.

  

  5.  Select your default list from the dropdown, and check off any additional contact lists that you would like displayed. Click the “Save Settings” button.

  

  6.  Navigate back to your Profile page, by clicking on the “Profile” tab.

  

  7.  From your profile page, click on the “Plus” icon and select “Join My List.” (Why don’t I see the Join My List tab under the “+” button?)

  

  8.  A “Join My List” tab will be added to your profile page. Now visitors to your profile will be able to click this tab and join your Constant Contact mailing lists. (Why won’t the tab stay visible?)

  Troubleshooting

   
  Q: Why don’t I see the Join My List tab under the “+” button?A: Sometimes the “+” button doesn’t seem to update properly. Here’s an alternate method to try, to get the tab to appear:

  1. In the top-right corner of your browser window, click “Account”.
  2. Click “Application Settings”.
  3. On the new page, look for an entry named “Constant Contact Labs - Join My Mailing List.”
  4. Click the “Edit Settings” link for that entry.
  5. In the window that opens, look for the word “Tab:” under the “Profile” tab. If it reads “Available (add)”, please click the word “add”.
  6. Ensure that your “Privacy” setting is set to “Everyone”.
  7. Click the “Okay” button.
  8. Now, go check your profile again for the “Join My List” tab. If you still don’t see it, please also look for a tab with two arrows on it like this: >> . If you see one, click on that tab, and look for “Join My List” inside of it.
   
  Q: Why won’t my Join My List tab on my profile stay visible?A: Facebook limits the number of tabs that are visible on profiles, which may mean that the Join My List tab is hidden behind a tab that looks like this: ” >> “. If you want to make the Join My List tab visible to your visitors, click the >> tab to open it, then look for the Join My List entry. Click and hold your mouse on the Join My List text, and drag it with your mouse out next to your Wall tab. This should make the tab appear for all to see.
