    QuickView 2.0

We’re pleased to announce QuickView for iPhone 2.0, expected to appear in the App Store in late March 2010. This is a major update, bringing many oft-requested features and enhancements. Please click “Read Entire Article” to learn more.

The reaction to Constant Contact’s first native mobile application has been stronger than expected. Originally a Constant Contact Labs research project called CCManager, we decided in June 2009 to go ahead and convert the experimental iPhone project into a small app designed to help customers keep tabs on their campaigns when away from the computer. We weren’t really sure that anyone would use it, but in the Labs tradition we decided to just put it out there and see what people thought. Released on November 9, 2009, QuickView was an experiment on two important fronts:

    * It was Constant Contact’s first mobile application.
    * It was the first public project from Constant Contact Labs.

Over the last few months, QuickView has become quite a success - it’s not only become popular on the App Store (appearing on the Top 25 Free Business apps for several weeks), it’s also become the single largest consumer of Constant Contact’s Web Service APIs.

The app has addressed such a strong need for our customers that we’ve been positively flooded with feedback. The prevailing sentiment has been that, although QuickView’s features are already of great use, there’s a lot more the app needs to do. Our customers want to see not only who clicked on an email, but also when, and on which links. They want to request fresh, up-to-date campaign statistics. They want to schedule emails for delivery. In short, they want to do a lot of what they can do on our site - but from their iPhone or iPod Touch.

It was quite a list. We went to work. The result is QuickView 2.0 for iPhone :

    Major New Features

    Enhanced email click rate statistics

    Other New Features

    * Sent emails can be viewed as web pages. (Requires Email Campaign Archive)

    * Sent emails can be posted to Twitter or Facebook. (Requires Email Campaign Archive)

    * Contacts can be created directly in contact lists.

    * Contacts can be emailed without leaving the app. (Requires iPhone OS 3.0)

    * Contacts can be called at home or work numbers. (Not available on iPod Touch)

    * Supports multiple Constant Contact accounts.

There are many other smaller features and enhancements as well, including a link for users to submit questions or feedback directly to Constant Contact Labs. We hope you’ll take advantage of it to let us know what you think!

QuickView for iPhone 2.0 is expected to be available (pending App Store approval) in late March 2010. If you’re already a QuickView user, the App Store will prompt you to update automatically when it becomes available.

So how about blackberry users? is an app on the way for us?

Hi Frida, Labs is always looking for new ways to extend functionality to customers while they’re away from the computer. Although we’re not working on a BlackBerry application right now, it’s very useful to know that you’d like to see one. Thanks for telling us.

Please do bring out a BlackBerry app - it would be hugely appreciated!
